Within the technological solutions that exist in the SMART AGRO category, no specific solutions have been defined for woody crops or horticultural crops. These types of crops need daily information about the plant, and requires an additional cost and higher difficulty compared to other solutions focused on large areas of land for growing cereal.
AYSCOM is developing the project called “AGROTECH: DEVELOPMENT OF A CONTROL SYSTEM OF DIAGNOSTICS AND RECOMENDATIONS FOR TAKING DECISIONS IN PRECISION AGRICULTURE”, to obtain a monitoring, diagnostics and recommendations system for controlling and managing agricultural crops. The project will last for 24 months between the 1st of July 2015 and the 30th of June 2017.
The system will use data from different sources of information and advanced indicators so that, with its subsequent analysis, correlation and application of predictive, mathematical, mechanistic and machine learning techniques, it will be possible to carry out a strict control of the development of the plants. And also, it will provide specific recommendations to improve the productivity of the crops and the quality of the agricultural products. In other words, the most innovative technologies will be incorporated into a self-created software development focused on the agro-food industry.
In addition, the power of this novel system of diagnostic, control and recommendation for decision making in precision agriculture is to gather information from a large set of data sources: weather forecasts, sensory data sources which belong to different systems such as RANCH SYSTEMS, NAZARÍES or ADCON, satellite images, nitrate probes, etc. Once all the information is collected, the system starts to process the raw data and apply the algorithms and models defined, in order to obtain data with great added value for the end user
In this project , AYSCOM collaborates with the following research organizations in the agro-food industry: “Universidad de Almería”, “Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona”, CSIC, “Fundación para la Investigación del Clima” and VERDE SMART, S.L.
The Project “AGROTECH: DESARROLLO DE UN SISTEMA DE CONTROL, DIAGNÓSTICO Y RECOMENDACIÓN PARA LA TOMA DE DECISIONES EN LA AGRICULTURA DE PRECISIÓN” with TSI-100503-2015-38 file number, has been co-funded by Acción Estratégica de Economía y Sociedad Digital (AEESD) 2015, which is a programm of the Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Turismo, according to the Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica, Técnica y de Innovación 2013-2016.
